School Vision
Courageous
learners,
Caring people.
From the Principal
Dear parents and caregivers,
This term has been incredibly productive and fun with lots of events along the way. The students and staff have been working industriously to complete all of their work for the school year. Teachers are tirelessly writing their students’ reports. I can’t believe that there is less than 4 weeks of the school year remaining. The students finish the school year on Thursday 15 December 2022.
Students leaving at the end of this year
We are working to finalise the process of planning classes and classroom structures for next year. If your child will be leaving Madeley Primary by the end of 2022, please advise the school office as soon as possible. Thank you.
Reports
Student Reports will be emailed home on Monday 12 December. Please ensure that your email and contact details are up to date, through the front office, to enable you to receive your child’s report. Please remember to download your child’s reports to your home computer as the link will only be active for around 2 weeks.
School Board Meeting
On Wednesday 30th Dec at 5:30pm we are holding an open School Board meeting. All interested parents are welcome to attend to find out more about how the School Board operates.
P & C meeting
Our final P & C Meeting is on Wednesday 30th Nov at 7:30pm. We would love to see some new faces, please note that all parents and carers are welcome.
ASC Transition
Our Yr 6 students are undertaking their transition days in Week 8. We wish them all the very best for an enjoyable transition. This provides a wonderful opportunity to get to know the environment, expectations and routines of ASC to allow student to feel more confident with the move to the secondary college next year.
Zoo Camps
The Year 4 students have been having a wonderful time at the Zoo Camps this term. We thank the students for their fantastic behaviour at the camp. I would like to also make special mention of the staff for their time taken away from their own families to provide this amazing experience for our students. Thank you also to the parent helpers that made themselves available to assist on the camps.
Student Leaders 2023 speeches
This week, our current Year 5 students seeking leadership roles in the school next year, presented their speeches. All staff and students in Year 4 – Year 5 have voted. All prospective leaders presented fantastic speeches and should be so proud of their efforts.
The successful candidates for the leadership roles 2023 will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on Wed 14th Dec. Parents of the successful candidates will be notified by phone prior to Friday 9 Dec. It is unfortunate that there are limited leadership positions each year even though there are many worthy candidates.
Our current Student Leaders 2022
As a thank you for all of the hard work of our current leaders, we treat them to a beautiful breakfast at the end of the year. We really appreciate all of their hard work and leadership at Madeley PS.
Have a great weekend everyone.

School Nurse
Sleep
School-aged children need 10 -11 hours sleep a night. Getting a good night’s sleep will help your child to be more settled, happy and ready for school, and will strengthen his/her immune system. Here are some sleep tips:
- Have a bedtime routine – this will help your child wind down from the day.
- Keep the bedroom dark, cool and quiet - this will help your child drift off easily.
- If anxieties or worries are keeping your child from relaxing, acknowledge the feelings and deal with it straight away or plan to sort the issue out in the morning after a good night’s sleep.
Remember, medication is not the answer to children’s sleep problems.
