School Vision
Madeley Primary School will nurture and promote life-long learners within a positive school community where respect is valued and independence and excellence are expected.
From the Principal
Dear parents and caregivers,
Term Three is always a busy and productive term and this one has been no exception. This term the students have learnt so much, been incredibly active and had loads of fun along the way. School holidays are only one week away. We wish everyone a wonderful and restful holiday break.
Open Night
On Wednesday 14th we held our annual Open Night where all the classrooms are opened to showcase the students hard work over the term. This whole school community event was, once again, well attended by parents and family members. We had close to 90% of families attending this event school wide with two classrooms having 100% attendance. It was a spectacular evening with the P&C providing an exceptional selection of food to keep everyone nourished.
National Day of Mourning
The Prime Minister has announced a public holiday as a national day of mourning for the late Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday 22nd September. All schools will be closed on this day. The school will be open on Friday 23rd for the last day of Term 3.
School Survey Results
Thank you to all parents who completed this survey, we appreciate your feedback and use this information to guide whole school improvement. This was last completed in 2020. When we look at the feedback from this year, the following 5 statements rated highest with 92% of parents responding agree or strongly agree:
‘Teachers at this school expect my child to do his or her
best.’
‘My child feels safe at this school.’
‘I can talk to my child’s teachers about my concerns.’
‘My child’s teachers are good teachers.’
‘Teachers at this school care about my child.’
Cluster Student Leaders
Our student leaders attended the Ern Halliday Cluster Student Leaders Day Camp on Friday 9th September. The day was filled with fun and engaging challenges with all student leaders across the Ashdale Cluster participating. The challenges include a harnessed crate climb, team building and problem solving as well as archery events. All the student leaders had a wonderful time on their day camp and they could not have asked for a more perfect day with glorious weather.
Children who are sick
A reminder to all parents and carers to please ensure that sick children remain home to enable them to be nursed back to health. Particularly in these times of this pandemic, it is of critical importance that we all support one another to prevent spread of illness, by remaining home if and when we are unwell.
Students leaving at the end of the school year
It is of critical importance for us to be informed if a student is leaving as small changes to our student numbers can make a big difference to the way we structure our classes for the following year. Therefore, if your child is leaving the school, could you please send us an email at Madeley.PS@education.wa.edu.au or inform your child’s class teacher as soon as possible. Thank you.
Parking
A reminder to all parents that the safety of our students is a top priority at Madeley PS. I would like to remind all parents to ensure that they only park in marked parking bays. Please DO NOT park on the school lawn or pathways surrounding the school. This creates a safety hazard and is not permitted.
Term 4
School holidays start on Sat 24th Sept and students are due back to school on Monday 10th Oct. The School Development Days for next term are on Friday 21st Oct and Friday 16th Dec.
School Security During the Holidays
We rely on the community for support to keep our school secure and safe during the holiday period. We ask parents to keep an eye on our school during the holiday period and report any suspicious behaviour to Education Security on 9264 4632 or Police 131 444. The Education Security phone number is on signage on fencing around the outside of the school.
Have a wonderful weekend

Online Safety - How To Keep Your Child Safe Online
Protecting your children from harm is just as important online as it is in the real world. As a parent or carer, you can play an important role in helping children have safe and positive experiences online.
The internet offers an exciting world of experiences for children and the whole family. It can be entertaining, educational and rewarding. However, using the internet also involves risks and challenges.
Children might be exposed to content that is sexually explicit, violent, prohibited or even illegal. They may also experience cyber bullying or be at risk from contact by strangers.
Children may - unknowingly or deliberately - share personal information without realising they may be subject to identity theft, or that they are leaving behind content that might not reflect well on them in the future.
By taking an active role in talking with your kids about the risks and answering their questions or concerns about something that they find on the Internet you can help them stay safer online.
For more information on keeping your children safe online try the following website:
- iParent is an online resource developed by the Office of the Children’s E-Safety Commission where parents can learn about the digital environment and keep updated on their children’s technology use. Guidance for using safety settings on your family’s web-connected devices, tips for choosing movies and games and strategies for keeping young people safe online is available. www.esafety.gov.au
