School Vision
Madeley Primary School will nurture and promote life-long learners within a positive school community where respect is valued and independence and excellence are expected. |
From the Principal
Dear parents and caregivers,
I can’t believe it is already the end of Week 6. Christmas will be here in no time. The students are working really hard through their final term of the year whilst the staff are busily completing assessments and preparing reports. Reports will be emailed home on Monday 13th December 2021.
Please ensure that your email and contact details are up to date, through the front office, to enable you to receive your child’s report. Please remember to download your child’s reports to your home computer as the link will only be active for around 2 weeks.
Students Leaving at the End of This Year
We are starting the process of planning classes and classroom structures for next year. If your child will be leaving Madeley Primary by the end of 2021, please advise the school office as soon as possible. Thank you.
School Board Meeting
On Wednesday 1st December at 5:30pm we are holding an open School Board. All interested parents are welcome to attend to find out more about how the School Board operates.
P & C Meeting

ASC Transition
Our Year 6 students are undertaking their transition days in Week 8. We wish them all the very best for an enjoyable transition. This provides a wonderful opportunity to get to know the environment, expectations and routines of ASC to allow student to feel more confident with the move to the secondary college next year.
Zoo Camps
The Year 4 students have been having a wonderful time at the Zoo Camps this week. We thank the students for their fantastic behaviour at the camp. I would like to also make special mention of the staff for their time taken away from their own families to provide this amazing experience for our students. Thank you also to the parent helpers that made themselves available to assist on the camps.
Student Leaders 2022 Speeches
This week, our current Year 5 students who are seeking leadership roles in the school next year, presented their speeches and the voting took take place by all staff and students from Year 3 – Year 5. All prospective leaders presented fantastic speeches and should be so proud of their efforts.
The successful candidates for the leadership roles 2022 will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on Wednesday 15th December. Parents of the successful candidates will be notified by phone prior to Friday 10th December. It is unfortunate that there are limited leadership positions each year even though there are many worthy candidates.
Our Current Student Leaders 2021
As a thank you for all of the hard work of our current leaders, we take them out to breakfast at the end of the year. Our breakfast will be held before school on Monday 6th December. Further details will be provided soon.
Have a great weekend everyone.

P&C News
P&C School Disco
A huge thank you to all the families who came along to join in the fun at the disco! The students had an unforgettable night, dancing with their friends and enjoying the awesome glow products! The parents also had a great night with 5 star reviews for the burgers on sale! Many thanks to Supa IGA Darch for their support. It was great to see the community spirit on the night and a thank you to the parents for adhering to social distancing and staying out in the open air rather than in the undercover area. The P&C would like to thank so many wonderful volunteers; from helpers in the canteen, to our P&C chopping ninja, to the best BBQ blokes, to the logistics assistants, to ticket desk extraordinaires, to crowd controllers/social distancing checkers, to the teaching staff (who also happen to be parents) who provided support on the night and most importantly – our incredible fundraising co-ordinator, Alana Foley, who has played a pivotal role in every awesome fundraising event planned and accomplished this year. Also another big shout out to our repeat volunteer offenders who continually put their hand up (and we love them for it) you know who you are! Hot dog hats for all!! The Disco raised just over $3,000 for our wonderful school, we look forward to the teacher funding submissions in the New Year so we can support the purchasing of excellent new items for our kids to use at school!

Help needed – Accountant
If there is a lovely family in our school community that has an accountant within it who is willing to overview our P&C and Canteen accounts, could you please get in touch with our brilliant P&C and Canteen Treasurer, Giao Valenti – madeleypstreasurer@gmail.com
Ideally we need the accounts overviewed in mid-January ahead of our P&C AGM in Week 3, Term 1.
Update on Canteen Orders Moving to QKR
QKR is scheduled to go live at the start of 2022 for use as the new method for canteen ordering and to replace the current Quickcliq platform.
IMPORANT: please ensure you have used up your Quickcliq credit and/or have preloaded credit refunded to you by Friday 18th December.
P&C Nominations and Next Meeting Reminder
The last P&C meeting for the year is on Wednesday 1st December from 7:30pm in the Madeley Primary School staffroom. Please come along and share in the final meeting of this very successful year! New faces always welcome!
We are seeking nominations for all P&C roles so please consider getting involved! If you have attended any of our events, you will see that being involved with the P&C is awesome fun and we welcome all parents to join us in any capacity they are comfortable with. Especially for new families to the school with students in the lower year levels – the P&C is a great way to meet new friends and collaborate with parents from a range of year levels.
Please reach out to madeleypandc@gmail.com for more information. Nomination forms can be sent via email.
Current roles we will be needing to fill nominations for are:
President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
Canteen Treasurer
Fundraising Coordinator
Canteen Coordinator
Communications Officer
These roles will be elected at the Wednesday 1st December meeting.
Fundraising End of Year Total
With the bulk of our large scale fundraisers completed for the year, it is a great pleasure to announce our end of year fundraising total for 2021, drum roll please…
$12,154
Incredible work from the P&C fundraising committee and the wider P&C group! Humongous thanks to our wonderful school community for coming along to our events and supporting the fundraising efforts of the P&C.
Keep an eye out for the first event of 2022 which is set to be another Drive-in session.
P&C Facebook and Canteen Quickcliq
Keep an eye out on the P&C Facebook Page and Quickcliq for upcoming weekly/monthly Meal Deals online.

School Banking - Update from Commonwealth Bank
For 90 years, our School Banking program has helped children learn about money, reinforced the importance of regular savings and provided structure for parents to support their children to save.
Though the program continues to have strong support from schools, parents and teachers, recent decisions by some state and territory governments because of a review by the corporate regulator mean we are unable to continue providing programs in schools, and we have had to make a difficult decision to close our School Banking program for all government and non-government schools across the country.
Our School Banking program was established in 1931 at a time when having a bank account was not commonplace, and since then we have helped more than 15 million Australians take their first financial steps. This would not have been possible without the wonderful support we have received from schools like yours, including all the parents and volunteers, and for this we are deeply grateful. Thank you.
Even though this is a sad time, School Banking has taught so many young Australians, past and present, the value of money and we believe this should be celebrated. We have created a place for you to share your stories, fondest memories and lessons learnt through the program. To share your story and access our financial education resources, please visit https://www.commbank.com.au/banking/school-banking.html
Even though the CommBank School Banking program will not be returning to your school after this year, you can continue to make deposits into your child’s Youthsaver account through online transfers or at any CommBank branch. If you need further information, please phone 132 221 or visit your local CommBank branch.

You are an important role model for your child. Your child will watch what you eat, how much you exercise, how much screen-time you use and how you look after yourself.
Children who grow up in families that enjoy a healthy lifestyle are more likely to make their own healthy choices as they get older.
